Flights Set to Resume

According to Wizz Air’s website, the next available flights from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are scheduled for October 25, 2026. Fares start from Dh289 per passenger.

The airline’s website also shows daily flight availability. However, ticket prices are expected to rise as the winter travel season gets closer.

The return of Wizz Air UAE flights will give travellers another budget-friendly option for regional and international travel.

Why Wizz Air Left Abu Dhabi

Wizz Air had suspended its Abu Dhabi operations on September 1, 2025. At the time, the airline said it was exiting its Abu Dhabi joint venture because of geopolitical situations, regulatory challenges and strong competition.

The airline had operated thousands of flights from Abu Dhabi before its suspension.

Wizz Air’s Abu Dhabi Operations

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi was a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ) and Wizz Air Holdings, a Hungarian ultra-low-cost airline.

In 2024, the airline operated more than 19,000 flights to and from Abu Dhabi. It also carried more than 3.5 million point-to-point passengers, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

That year, the airline introduced subscription products called Wizz MultiPass and All You Can Fly. Both products sold out twice within 48 hours.

Competition in the Budget Airline Market

Wizz Air faced strong competition from regional and local budget airlines. These included Air Arabia, Jazeera Airways and flynas.

Its return could give UAE travellers more choices when planning affordable trips.

What Travellers Should Know

Passengers planning to fly with Wizz Air should check the airline’s website for the latest schedules and fares. The current information shows flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi becoming available from October 25.

The starting fare of Dh289 per passenger provides an early indication of pricing. However, fares can change depending on demand and travel dates.

The return of Wizz Air UAE flights could offer more affordable travel options as the busy winter season approaches.
