Starlink has received a 10-year UAE license, allowing residents and businesses to pre-order satellite broadband plans starting at Dh300 per month.

UAE residents can now pre-order Starlink satellite internet services after Elon Musk’s satellite broadband company received a 10-year license to operate in the country.
The UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority granted Starlink a General Satellite Services License, enabling the company to provide satellite broadband connectivity across the Emirates.
The move adds a satellite-based layer to the UAE’s already extensive digital infrastructure, which is largely supported by fiber-optic networks. The services are expected to cover individual users, businesses and government entities, while also supporting connectivity in the maritime and aviation sectors.
Starlink had previously received approval in the UAE for Maritime Satellite Internet Services in 2024. The new license significantly expands its potential operations and customer base in the country.
Starlink UAE plans, prices and speeds
According to the information available for UAE pre-orders, Starlink’s residential service is priced at Dh300 per month and includes unlimited data and a 30-day trial.
The required hardware starts at Dh1,465 and includes a Starlink kit with a Router 3 featuring Wi-Fi 6 technology.
Customers are also required to place a Dh300 deposit during the ordering process. The deposit will later be deducted from the total cost of the Starlink Kit.
Starlink says its service can offer speeds of up to 400 Mbps, although actual performance can vary depending on network capacity, location, and other operating conditions.
The company has said that it cannot currently provide an estimated timeframe for service availability in all locations, adding that its teams are working to expand capacity and coverage.
How UAE residents can pre-order
Residents interested in the service can begin the process through the official Starlink UAE website.
Users first select their location to check availability, then are directed to the relevant pre-order page. They can then review the available service and hardware specifications before proceeding to checkout.
Customers must provide personal, shipping, and payment information to complete the reservation process. The payment summary displays the applicable charges, while the initial checkout payment is currently limited to the required deposit.
The arrival of Starlink could provide an additional connectivity option for users in remote areas and sectors where conventional fixed infrastructure may be difficult to deploy.
For businesses, maritime operators and aviation services, satellite broadband could also offer expanded connectivity beyond traditional terrestrial networks.
With the new 10-year license in place, Starlink’s entry represents another step in the UAE’s efforts to strengthen its digital ecosystem and introduce new technologies alongside its established high-speed fiber infrastructure.
