The Dialogue among Civilisations UAE initiative shows the country’s strong commitment to peace, tolerance, and cultural understanding. The United Arab Emirates marked the International Day for Dialogue among Civilisations on June 10, 2026. The event highlighted the UAE’s global role in promoting coexistence and respect among people from different cultures and religions.
The UAE is home to nearly 200 nationalities. People from different backgrounds live together in peace and harmony. The country supports equality, mutual respect, and the rule of law. These values are promoted through education programmes, social policies, and national initiatives.
Recently, Abu Dhabi hosted the 3rd International Conference for Dialogue of Civilisations and Tolerance. The event welcomed more than 100 speakers and over 4,500 participants from more than 120 countries. Experts, religious leaders, and government officials discussed the importance of tolerance, family values, and cultural cooperation.
The Dialogue among Civilisations UAE vision is also reflected in major national projects. The Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence continues to support openness and unity. The Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi stands as a symbol of peaceful dialogue among the three Abrahamic religions.
In 2019, Abu Dhabi became the location for the signing of the historic Human Fraternity document by Pope Francis and Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. The document remains an important global example of interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
The UAE also works closely with international organisations such as UNESCO and the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations. Through these efforts, the country continues to strengthen its image as a global leader in tolerance, peace, and cultural dialogue.
