Sharjah Ruler approves organisational structure for Sharjah Digital Department

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has approved the new organisational structure for the Sharjah Digital Department, reinforcing the emirate’s digital transformation and public-sector efficiency initiatives.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri decree approving the general organizational structure of the Sharjah Digital Department, marking another step in the emirate’s ongoing drive to strengthen digital governance and modernize government services.

The decree formally adopts the department’s general organizational framework and authorizes the Sharjah Executive Council to issue resolutions establishing its detailed organizational structure.

Under the decree, the Executive Council will also oversee implementation of the new framework by approving job descriptions for the department’s organizational units, aligned with their respective responsibilities and competencies.

Additionally, the Council has been empowered to create, merge, or abolish organizational units within the department as needed to improve operational efficiency and ensure the structure remains aligned with Sharjah’s strategic priorities.

The move is expected to provide greater flexibility in managing the department’s operations while supporting the emirate’s long-term digital transformation agenda.

Sharjah Digital plays a key role in developing and enhancing digital government services, improving institutional performance and accelerating the adoption of smart technologies across government entities. The newly approved organizational structure is designed to strengthen coordination, streamline decision-making and support innovation in public service delivery.

The latest decree reflects Sharjah’s continued commitment to building a modern, technology-driven government capable of delivering efficient, secure and citizen-focused digital services while supporting sustainable development across the emirate.
