Sharjah ruler announces that Sudanese students at Sudan Private School will receive free education. His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) to stop collecting all school fees from Sudanese pupils.

He also ordered the authority to refund any nominal fees already collected from parents. The decision came after a parent raised concerns during the Direct Line programme about tuition fees and withheld certificates.
Sudanese Students To Receive Free Education
The Sharjah Ruler explained that Sudan Private School was established to support families in Sharjah’s Sudanese community who could not afford other schools.
He said the school was intended to operate completely free of charge. However, some fees were later introduced and described as nominal.
Sheikh Sultan stressed that even a small fee can be difficult for families in need. He therefore instructed SPEA not to collect any fees from the students.
The Sharjah ruler announces that previously collected money should also be returned to those who paid it. He said he follows the school’s affairs closely and remains in regular contact with its management.
Focus On Teachers And Education Quality
Sheikh Sultan also spoke about maintaining education standards at the school. He said immediate action is taken when teachers seriously fail in their duties.
Teachers who need improvement are given training and support. However, those who fail to improve may be removed from the school.
Tumouh Programme For Government Employees
During the same programme, the Sharjah Ruler discussed higher education opportunities for government employees.
He announced the first group of the Tumouh, or Aspiration, programme. A total of 60 employees from different Sharjah government departments have joined the programme.
The one-year postgraduate diploma can be followed by a master’s degree at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom.
Sheikh Sultan Urges Students To Value Knowledge
Sheikh Sultan advised postgraduate students to take their studies seriously. He said higher education should benefit people, society and knowledge.
He encouraged students to focus fully on learning and developing their expertise. He also urged teachers and educational institutions to support those seeking knowledge.
