Safeguarding Human Dignity Core is a guiding principle for H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. On World Refugee Day, she reaffirmed that the UAE and Sharjah remain committed to protecting human dignity and supporting people affected by displacement. She stressed that every person deserves safety, respect, and the opportunity to live with hope.
Jawaher Al Qasimi said this vision reflects the long-standing humanitarian approach of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. She noted that Sharjah continues to turn compassion into practical initiatives that help individuals and families rebuild their lives. These efforts focus on dignity, resilience, and sustainable support for communities in need.
She highlighted that many people often take everyday blessings for granted, such as a safe home, family support, education, and freedom. For refugees, these basic needs are often lost due to conflict and displacement. She explained that the true value of safety and security is best understood by those who have been forced to live without them.
The Safeguarding Human Dignity Core message was also reflected in her call for greater global responsibility toward refugees. She emphasized the challenges faced by refugee children and young people whose education, dreams, and futures have been disrupted. She also recognized families who continue to show strength despite difficult circumstances.
Jawaher Al Qasimi stated that more than 115 million people worldwide have been forcibly displaced. She urged the international community to view displacement as a shared human responsibility. The Safeguarding Human Dignity Core principle, she said, should inspire collective action to protect vulnerable people and create opportunities for a better future.
She concluded that the success of humanitarian work is measured by the lives improved. The opportunities created, and the hope restored through genuine compassion and solidarity.
