Indian expat TikTok war shocked many people in the UAE and Kerala after a deadly fight in Sharjah claimed the life of Ismail Ponnan Ibrahim Kutty. The 40-year-old Indian expat died on May 31, which was also the birth date listed on his official documents. His body will soon be sent back to Kerala for funeral procedures.
Ismail worked at a bakery in Dubai and was active on TikTok. Reports said the incident started after a heated argument during a TikTok live session. The online fight later turned into a real confrontation in Sharjah’s Al Nahda area. During the clash, Ismail was allegedly stabbed by a group of men.
Hospital records confirmed that he died from severe bleeding caused by a sharp weapon. Sharjah Police quickly arrested the suspects within four hours after the crime was reported. Officials said another person was also injured in the attack but survived after medical treatment.

However, his brother explained that the birthday on official records was not his real birth date. In earlier years in Kerala, many families registered children with different dates for school admission purposes.
The victim’s younger brother is now handling the repatriation process while trying to protect the family from the painful details of the tragedy. Legal support teams are helping complete the paperwork needed to send the body back to India.
