Instagram is also improving direct messages. If a teen receives a harmful link, it will be blocked automatically. This reduces exposure to dangerous content shared privately.
A new option called Limited Content gives parents even more control. It removes comments completely and filters more strict content for a safer experience. This strengthens Instagram teen safety features across the platform.
Meta is expanding these protections to Facebook and Messenger as well. Teens in Pakistan will automatically be moved to the 13+ setting. The Limited Content mode will roll out later.
AI moderation has also been upgraded. It now checks Reels, Stories, Feed, Explore, and comments more effectively. This ensures safer content recommendations.
Overall, the update strengthens Instagram teen safety, improves parental controls, and tightens restricted content rules across Meta platforms. The goal is to create a safer digital space for young users while still allowing limited social interaction online.
