Qatar Says 8 Injured, Including 1 Critically Wounded, After Iranian Missile Attacks

Qatar’s Interior Ministry says Iranian missile attacks on the Gulf state have injured eight people, including one person in critical condition, as regional tensions continue to escalate following recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.

The injuries resulted after Iranian missiles and drones struck areas near Qatar, causing damage to infrastructure and prompting emergency responses by local authorities. The ministry’s announcement highlighted that most of the injuries were due to falling debris and shockwaves from intercepted ordnance, while the seriously wounded individual was taken to hospital for urgent treatment.

The strikes come amid a broader military confrontation that began when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes against Iranian military targets, prompting Tehran to retaliate by firing missiles and drones at several Gulf states hosting U.S. military assets, including Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

Qatari air defenses reportedly intercepted many of the incoming missiles, reducing the scale of damage and casualties, but some debris still reached populated areas. Local officials also noted damage to an early-warning radar installation in northern Qatar, underscoring the risk the strikes posed to critical infrastructure and civilian safety.

The government has urged residents to stay informed through official channels and follow safety guidance as the situation remains unpredictable. Flights in and out of Doha have been disrupted, with airlines suspending services due to airspace closures linked to the conflict.

The incident represents one of the most serious direct impacts of the wider Middle East confrontation on Qatar, a nation that has historically maintained a cautious diplomatic balance in regional affairs. Officials are expected to continue monitoring the security situation closely and coordinate with international partners to ensure public safety.
