UAE Announces Remote Learning for Schools and Universities From March 2 to 4

The UAE has announced that schools and universities across the country will switch to remote learning from March 2 to March 4 as a precautionary measure, authorities confirmed.

Education regulators said the temporary move aims to ensure student safety and maintain continuity of learning while conditions requiring caution are monitored. During the period, classes will continue online through approved digital learning platforms, with institutions instructed to follow established distance-education procedures.

Officials noted that academic schedules will remain in place, and students are expected to attend virtual classes according to their normal timetables. Teachers and administrative staff will also operate remotely unless otherwise directed by their institutions.

The decision applies to both public and private education providers, including schools, colleges, and universities. Authorities said coordination with education institutions has already been completed to ensure a smooth transition, with technical support available for students and parents if needed.

Parents have been advised to ensure children log in on time and maintain regular participation in online sessions. Schools are also expected to monitor attendance and continue assessments where possible through digital platforms.

Government representatives emphasized that the measure is temporary and preventative, stressing that learning continuity remains a priority while ensuring the well-being of students and staff.

Education authorities will provide further updates before the end of the period, depending on conditions at the time. Institutions are expected to resume normal in-person classes once the precautionary period concludes unless additional guidance is issued.

The announcement reflects the country’s continued readiness to shift between physical and remote education when necessary, using infrastructure developed in recent years to minimize disruption to academic progress.
