Sharjah expands smart water meters to more residential areas

With the installation of smart water meters in the Al Rahmaniya and Al Noaf neighborhoods, Sharjah has made even more progress toward sustainability.

The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) launched these highly accurate water meters that minimize water loss and monitor water use around-the-clock.

By showcasing the meters’ accuracy in tracking water consumption, SEWA revealed this development on their X account. This program attempts to protect the environment by lowering water waste dramatically and improving customer happiness.

The plan is to roll out the smart meter project to additional areas, such as Al Juraina, Nasiriyah, Al Mamzar, New Al Khan 2, and New Al Khan, where it will take the place of conventional mechanical meters. This launch is a component of SEWA’s larger plan to update Sharjah’s water management system in line with international sustainability objectives.
