Which is precisely what makes what the Sharjah Public Prosecution did on the first day of the new academic year so quietly remarkable.
Instead of briefcases and formal proceedings, the Government Communication Department of the Sharjah Public Prosecution arrived at the Sharjah School of Scientific Innovation carrying school supplies and gifts. The visit was part of Sharjah’s Back to School community initiative, and its purpose was simple and entirely human — to bring joy to children beginning a new academic year and to send them into their classrooms with optimism rather than anxiety.

Amani Musallat, Director of the Government Communication Department at the Sharjah Public Prosecution, framed the visit with clarity about what it represents beyond the gifts and the smiles.
“This participation reflects the Public Prosecution’s commitment to its social responsibility and its support for initiatives that target children and families, as they are the foundation for building a stable and cohesive society,” she said.
Her words carry more weight than standard institutional statement language. A Public Prosecution office that understands children and families as the foundation of a stable society is an institution that has grasped something fundamental about what justice systems are ultimately for. They exist not simply to prosecute wrongdoing but to protect and strengthen the communities within which people build their lives.
Showing up at a school on the first day of the academic year with school supplies is not a distraction from that mission. It is an expression of it.

The values she names — giving, solidarity, cooperation — are not the values typically associated with prosecution offices. They are the values of community. And Sharjah’s Public Prosecution is deliberately associating itself with those values through actions rather than simply words.
