Rohit became only the fifth Indian batter to score 14,000 runs in List A cricket, joining legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid.
The experienced batter achieved the feat with a quick 48 runs off 39 balls. His innings included six boundaries and two sixes. Rohit looked in good touch before he was dismissed by Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan.
With this achievement, Rohit Sharma 14000 ListA Runs now stands at 14,038 runs from 356 List A matches. He has also scored 37 centuries in the format. List A cricket includes One-Day Internationals and other domestic 50-over matches.
Among Indian batters, Sachin Tendulkar remains the highest run-scorer in List A cricket with 21,999 runs. Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid are the other players ahead of Rohit on the all-time Indian list.
India posted a massive total of 402 runs in the match. Captain Shubman Gill played a brilliant knock of 154, while Ishan Kishan scored 125. The pair added 224 runs for the third wicket and helped India dominate the game.
The Rohit Sharma 14000 ListA Runs milestone added another memorable chapter to his outstanding career. India went on to win the match by 170 runs and sealed the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan 2-0.
