The UAE weather forecast today points to another very hot day across the country. Temperatures could reach 50°C in inland areas, while afternoon convective clouds may bring scattered rain to some parts of the UAE. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects similar weather conditions to continue through Friday.
The UAE will generally see fair to partly cloudy skies today. However, clouds may build during the afternoon, especially over the eastern and southern regions. These clouds could bring scattered showers in some areas.
Temperatures Could Reach 50°C
The heat will remain intense across much of the country. Inland areas are expected to record temperatures between 45°C and 50°C. Coastal areas and islands could see temperatures ranging from 42°C to 47°C.
Mountain areas will be relatively cooler. Temperatures there are forecast to range between 33°C and 39°C.
The extreme heat is expected to be one of the main weather features today. Residents in inland areas should prepare for very high afternoon temperatures.
Afternoon Rain Chances Remain
Despite the intense heat, some areas could see rain later in the day. The NCM said convective clouds may develop during the afternoon.
Rain chances are mainly expected over eastern and southern parts of the UAE. Western and internal areas could also see cloud activity at times during the coming days.
This combination of high temperatures and cloud development is linked to the current weather pattern over the region. A surface low-pressure system extending from the east, along with an upper-air low-pressure system, is creating conditions that support afternoon cloud formation.
Winds May Cause Blowing Dust
Winds are expected to be light to moderate today. They will generally blow from the south-east to north-east at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h.
However, winds could become stronger at times. Inland areas may experience gusts of up to 40 km/h today. Stronger winds can lift dust and reduce visibility in exposed locations.
The UAE weather forecast today also indicates that winds are expected to become stronger during the middle of the week. Wind speeds could reach up to 50 km/h on Wednesday and Thursday.
This could lead to more blowing dust, particularly in open and exposed areas.
Weather Conditions to Continue Through Friday
The current weather pattern is not expected to end today. The NCM forecasts similar conditions through Friday.
Convective clouds may continue developing over eastern and southern areas. At times, cloud activity could also extend toward western and internal parts of the country.
Rain chances will remain linked to the development of these clouds. Therefore, some areas may receive showers while other parts of the UAE remain dry.
The combination of extreme heat, humidity in coastal areas, cloud activity and stronger winds will make conditions changeable during the week.
Sea Conditions Remain Slight
Despite the stronger winds expected later in the week, sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Residents and motorists should remain aware of changing conditions, particularly when dust or rain affects visibility. People spending time outdoors should also take precautions during peak afternoon heat.
For now, the UAE weather forecast today shows a mix of extreme summer heat and possible afternoon rain. With temperatures potentially reaching 50°C inland and stronger winds expected later this week, weather conditions could remain unsettled across parts of the UAE through Friday.
