Nahyan Bin Mubarak Attends Grand Celebration Marking 128 Years of Philippine Independence in Dubai

Philippine Independence Day Celebration

The Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Dubai brought together more than 60,000 Filipinos, residents, and visitors at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan attended the event along with Philippine Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver and Consul-General Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III. The gathering marked the 128th anniversary of Philippine independence and showed the strong friendship between the UAE and the Philippines.

During the Philippine Independence Day Celebration, Sheikh Nahyan praised the Filipino community for its hard work, dedication, and positive role in UAE society. He said the values of courage, sacrifice, and freedom continue to inspire people. He also highlighted the UAE’s commitment to tolerance, coexistence, and cultural diversity. The minister noted that people from more than 200 nationalities live peacefully in the UAE.

Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver thanked the UAE leadership for creating a welcoming environment for Filipinos. He said the celebration reflected the close relationship between the two nations and the strong sense of belonging felt by Filipinos living in the UAE.

The event featured cultural and entertainment activities throughout the day. Filipino actress and singer Arci Muñoz performed live along with popular P-pop groups 1st.One, G22, and ALAMAT. Traditional performances also entertained the audience, including folk dances and the famous Sagala procession that highlighted Filipino heritage and culture.

The grand celebration once again showed the unity, culture, and friendship shared between the Filipino community and the UAE.
