Nurses deserve greater respect, said Kangana Ranaut while speaking about her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. The actress shared that nurses and hospital workers are often ignored despite doing some of the most important work in healthcare. She also said that society needs to change the way it looks at the nursing profession.
The film is inspired by the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. It focuses on the bravery of nurses, ward boys, and hospital staff at Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital. Instead of showing only police or doctors, the movie highlights the courage of healthcare workers during the crisis.
Kangana Ranaut said nursing is “the most sexualised profession” and added that nurses face disrespectful comments in daily life. According to the actress, many people fail to understand the hard work nurses do for patients and hospitals every day. She hopes the movie will help people realise why nurses deserve greater respect.
The actress also spoke about the contribution of support staff in hospitals. She explained that healthcare systems cannot function only because of doctors. Nurses, cleaners, ward boys, and many other workers also play a major role in patient care and hospital management.
Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata tells the story of an ordinary nurse managing both family duties and professional responsibilities during a terror attack. The film aims to honour the unsung heroes who continued serving people during one of the darkest moments in Mumbai’s history.
The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
