Unveiling the strategy, Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, RTA, explained that the plan focuses on regulating and governing the commercial transport sector, identifying innovative opportunities, and fostering partnerships with the private sector.

The strategy comprises 17 projects designed to support the growth of companies, increase competitiveness, and encourage the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. Some key projects include:

  • Developing digital platforms for commercial transport and logistics
  • Introducing value-added permits and no-objection certificates
  • Creating a heavy freight services platform and a road freight data center
  • Updating heavy and light truck fleets and introducing tachographs for heavy trucks
  • Introducing autonomous vehicles and towing trucks
  • Establishing a commercial transport and logistics forum and a National Committee for Small Vehicles

By harnessing the power of data and technology, Dubai aims to create a more efficient, sustainable, and innovative transport sector that benefits both businesses and individuals.
