The latest UAE gold rates give shoppers a small price break after Monday’s higher closing prices. However, global market concerns could continue to influence gold prices in Dubai.

Dubai Gold Prices Today

According to the latest rates, 24K gold fell to Dh533.50 per gram from Dh536.25 on Monday. Meanwhile, 22K gold dropped to Dh494 per gram from Dh496.50.

This means both popular gold grades became Dh2.75 cheaper per gram.

For buyers purchasing 10 grams, the price difference is Dh27.50 compared with Monday’s closing rate. This saving is before making charges and other retail costs.

Why Are Gold Prices Falling?

International gold prices remained under pressure on Tuesday. Spot gold fell 0.4 per cent to $4,428.54 an ounce in early trading.

The decline followed concerns about US interest rates. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh recently gave a hawkish speech, suggesting that the central bank may need to continue fighting inflation.

Higher interest rates can make gold less attractive. Gold does not pay interest. Therefore, investors may prefer assets that provide higher returns when interest rates and yields rise.

Fed Rate Hike Risks Gold Prices

Markets are closely watching the Federal Reserve. According to Reuters, traders see a 66 per cent chance of a US rate hike in September. The probability of a December hike is estimated at 89 per cent.

These expectations could keep UAE gold rates sensitive to upcoming US economic data.

Middle East Tensions Add Uncertainty

Middle East tensions are also affecting the gold market. Renewed tensions between the US and Iran have pushed oil prices higher.

Geopolitical uncertainty can support gold because investors often view it as a safe-haven asset. However, higher oil prices can increase inflation concerns and strengthen expectations for higher US interest rates.

Despite Tuesday’s decline, gold remains strong over the longer term. Bullion gained around 10 per cent in August, showing that demand remains firm.

For UAE shoppers, the latest Dubai Gold Prices Fall may offer a modest buying opportunity, but international interest-rate decisions and geopolitical developments will remain key factors.
