SharjahMedia: Emirati centenarian Abdullah Dhuha Askar Al Kaabi, a 107-year-old Emirati man, has passed away in Sharjah after living through more than a century of major changes in the UAE.
Born in Filli, Sharjah, in 1919, Al Kaabi witnessed the formation of the UAE and its transformation from a traditional society into a modern nation. His life reflected the experiences of several generations and the rapid development of the country.
Al Kaabi passed away after suffering from a terminal illness for around six years. His family and community remembered him for his kindness, generosity, humility and strong moral values.
His son, Mohammed, said his father had no formal education but possessed great wisdom and sharp judgment. He was known for helping people resolve disputes and bringing families and community members together.
Mohammed said Al Kaabi worked in the desert and also ran his own business. He had a strong memory and could recall events from seven or eight decades earlier. He also remembered the names of all his 10 grandchildren.
The 107-year-old Emirati man followed a simple lifestyle and remained active for most of his life. He walked regularly, maintained good health and never drove a car. His family said he remained independent until he was diagnosed with cancer six years ago.
Al Kaabi was also deeply committed to prayer. During his final days in the intensive care unit at Shakhbout Hospital, he asked his son to pray on his behalf.
He leaves behind two sons, Salem and Mohammed. His family said his legacy will continue through the values he represented, including wisdom, patience, compassion and dedication to family.
The death of the 107-year-old Emirati man marks the end of a remarkable life that connected generations and preserved memories of the UAE’s history.
