Shahid Kapoor is set to headline director Amit Ravindranath Sharma’s upcoming comedy “Adal Badal” alongside Janhvi Kapoor, reportedly signing the film for Rs. 18 crores plus profit-sharing benefits.

Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for another major theatrical release after the decent box-office performance of Cocktail 2. According to reports, the actor has signed filmmaker Amit Ravindranath Sharma’s next comedy entertainer titled “Adal Badal.”
The film, reportedly backed by producer Sunir Kheterpal in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, is expected to go on floors in October 2026.
Industry sources cited by Bollywood Hungama claimed that Shahid Kapoor has signed the project for a reported fee of Rs. 18 crores, along with a backend profit-sharing arrangement if the film performs well commercially.
The report further stated that Janhvi Kapoor has been cast opposite Shahid Kapoor, marking their first on-screen collaboration.
“Adal Badal” is said to revolve around the concept of soul swapping and is being described as a madcap comedy entertainer. Casting for other important roles is currently underway.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is also busy filming the second season of Farzi, the popular web series created by filmmaker duo Raj and DK.
The actor recently made headlines after filmmaker Imtiaz Ali credited him for playing a crucial role in the making of the iconic Bollywood film Jab We Met.
