Bodour Al Qasimi AUS Press was officially launched at the Warsaw International Book Fair during Sharjah’s participation as Guest of Honour. Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of American University of Sharjah (AUS), introduced the university’s new publishing arm. The initiative aims to support research, translation, and knowledge sharing between the Arab world and international communities.
AUS Press will publish books of regional and global importance. It will follow high editorial standards and help bring academic and cultural knowledge to wider audiences. Speaking at the event, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said universities should not only create knowledge but also ensure it is shared and translated so more people can benefit from it.
As part of the launch, Bodour Al Qasimi AUS Press unveiled its first publication, AUS 25: American University of Sharjah, A Legacy of Learning | 1997–Today. The commemorative book highlights the university’s journey since its founding in 1997. It includes contributions from university leaders, faculty members, staff, alumni, and former administrators.
AUS Press also announced its first acquired title. It will publish the Arabic edition of Zbig: The Life of Zbigniew Brzezinski, America’s Great Power Prophet by Edward Luce. The book is expected to be released during the Sharjah International Book Fair 2026.
Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, said the launch reflects the university’s commitment to research, publishing, and cultural exchange. He noted that Bodour Al Qasimi AUS Press will help share ideas, preserve regional history, and strengthen Sharjah’s cultural vision on a global level.
