Shanaya Kapoor Breaks Silence on Shelved Films: “Maybe I Wasn’t Meant To Do Them”

Mumbai, India: Shanaya Kapoor has candidly addressed the delay in her Bollywood debut, revealing that several of her early film projects were shelved before production could take off. The young actor said the experience, while disappointing at the time, ultimately helped her grow and better understand her career path.

Speaking in a recent interview, Kapoor reflected on the uncertainty she faced during the early phase of her career when multiple announced films failed to materialize. She admitted she initially struggled with the setbacks but later began to view them as part of the industry’s unpredictable nature.

According to Kapoor, she came to believe that certain opportunities simply were not meant for her. Rather than dwelling on missed chances, she chose to focus on improving her craft through acting workshops, training sessions, and preparation for future roles. She said the time away from the screen allowed her to develop confidence and patience — qualities she considers essential in the film industry.

The actor also acknowledged the pressures that come with being part of a film family, noting that expectations can be high even before a debut performance. However, she emphasized that every artist must eventually carve out their own journey and identity.

Industry observers say delayed debuts are not uncommon, especially for newcomers navigating production changes and market shifts. Kapoor’s comments reflect a broader reality in cinema, where projects often stall due to financing, scheduling conflicts, or creative adjustments.

Now preparing for upcoming projects, Kapoor says she feels more ready than before, approaching her career with clarity and resilience.
