Indian Expat in UAE Dies of Heart Attack Days After Taking Over as Community Group Chairman

An Indian expatriate in the United Arab Emirates has died after suffering a sudden heart attack just days after assuming the role of chairman of a local community group, leaving members shocked and mourning the unexpected loss.

The man, a long-time UAE resident known for his active involvement in community and social initiatives, had recently been elected to lead the organisation, a position that reflected his dedication to serving fellow expatriates. Friends and colleagues said he was in good spirits and full of plans to expand the group’s activities and outreach efforts.

According to those close to the family, he suffered a cardiac arrest at his residence and was rushed to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. He was reportedly in his early to mid-50s. No prior serious health issues were publicly known.

The sudden passing has sent waves of grief through the Indian expatriate community, with many expressing disbelief that someone so energetic and committed could be gone so quickly. Condolence messages poured in on social media, remembering him as a compassionate leader, mentor, and unifying presence within the community.

Community leaders highlighted the pressures often faced by expatriates, including long working hours, stress, and limited time for health check-ups, stressing the importance of regular medical screenings and work-life balance.

Indian diplomatic officials in the UAE have been informed, and arrangements are reportedly being made in coordination with the family regarding funeral procedures and repatriation, if required.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the growing concern over sudden cardiac deaths, particularly among middle-aged professionals. Health experts advise regular health monitoring, early detection of heart conditions, and lifestyle changes to reduce risks.

As the community mourns, members say the late chairman’s legacy of service and unity will continue to guide the group he briefly led but deeply inspired.
