Sharjah Award Voluntary Work

The Sharjah Award Voluntary Work continues to accept applications for its 23rd cycle, with individual entries open until December 31, 2025. The award aims to honour volunteers who actively serve social and humanitarian causes across Sharjah and beyond. It highlights the importance of volunteering in building strong and caring communities.

The Sharjah Award Voluntary Work includes several individual-focused categories. These cover general volunteers, families, senior citizens, school students, university students, people of determination, and distinguished figures. The wide range of categories reflects the award’s inclusive vision and its commitment to recognising efforts from all segments of society.

The individual category is open to people aged 18 years and above. Participants must apply using their personal voluntary work records. Required documents include a personal photograph, ID and passport copies, CV, volunteering membership card, and other supporting papers. Specialised volunteers, such as doctors or nurses, must also submit a valid professional licence.

Applicants in this category can compete for multiple honours. These include Best Voluntary Initiative, Volunteer Hours Record Award, Role Model Volunteer Award, Best Young Leader of Voluntary Teams, and Excellence in Specialised Volunteering.

Families who volunteer together can apply under the family category. Senior citizens aged 60 and above are eligible for a special category that celebrates lifelong contributions. People of determination aged 13 and above can also participate with verified documents.

University and school students in the UAE are encouraged to apply through their respective categories. These focus on recognising young volunteers with the highest contributions.

According to Suad Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the award, the initiative promotes a culture of giving and social responsibility. She urged eligible participants to complete registration before the final deadline on December 31, 2025.
