Sharjah strengthens creative economy with BEEAH–Shams partnership for SHAMS Studios

WEBDESK: Sharjah has taken another significant step toward strengthening its creative and media economy with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BEEAH and Sharjah Media City (Shams), aimed at supporting the upcoming SHAMS Studios project.

The agreement was signed under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council. It was part of a broader series of agreements signed with 14 leading Sharjah-based entities, reflecting a unified commitment to fostering creativity, innovation and sustainable development across the emirate.

Officials said the partnership underscores a shared belief in the power of creativity to build stronger, more connected communities, while positioning Sharjah as a regional hub for media, content creation and cultural industries.

A key pillar of the collaboration is SHAMS Studios, a flagship initiative designed to elevate Sharjah’s media production landscape. The project will feature fully integrated, world-class infrastructure, including five large-scale studios ranging from 1,500 to 3,400 square metres, alongside advanced post-production facilities. Once operational, SHAMS Studios is expected to support filmmakers, digital creators, startups and production houses in delivering high-quality content that meets international standards.

BEEAH officials said the partnership aligns closely with the group’s broader vision of integrating creativity, sustainability and community engagement to help build resilient societies. Through collaboration with Shams, BEEAH will contribute to skills development, content production and media enablement initiatives that support Sharjah’s growing creative ecosystem.

Shams representatives noted that the agreement reinforces Sharjah’s long-term strategy to attract talent, empower entrepreneurs and encourage purposeful collaboration across sectors.

Together, the partners said the initiative will not only enhance the emirate’s production capabilities but also strengthen Sharjah’s reputation as a forward-looking centre for innovation, sustainability and creative excellence in the region.
