Cold Moon 2025 UAE: Dubai Prepares Historic Supermoon Viewing Event

Cold Moon 2025 UAE

Cold Moon 2025 UAE will offer residents a rare chance to see the year’s final supermoon. Tomorrow evening, December 5, the moon will rise above Meydan Racecourse, creating a stunning view of the Cold Moon alongside live horse racing. This marks the first time in the UAE that a supermoon and horse racing will be experienced together.

The Cold Moon, named for the winter season, is the third and final supermoon of 2025. Earlier supermoons, the Hunter’s Supermoon and Beaver Supermoon, were seen in October and November. The December Cold Moon will appear up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than a regular full moon. Clear skies and low humidity in Dubai make this the perfect time for sharp lunar views.

Dubai Astronomy Group and Dubai Racing Club have organized the event at Meydan’s Paddock Garden. Guests can watch the races while also observing the moon through telescopes. Astronomy experts will guide viewers on the moon’s surface and craters. Tickets are Dh75, with gates opening at 4pm. The first race starts at 5.30pm, and the best moon viewing window is from 5.48pm to 6.30pm.

For those unable to attend, Cold Moon 2025 UAE will still be visible across the country from open areas like beaches, deserts, and balconies. No special equipment is required, but binoculars or telescopes can enhance the view.

This unique event combines sport, family entertainment, and astronomy. It promises an unforgettable experience, marking the end of 2025’s major lunar events.
