BCCI India Test squad

BCCI India Test squad has been announced for the upcoming two-Test home series against the West Indies starting October 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India named a 15-member team with Shubman Gill as captain. This will be his first full series as Test skipper after Rohit Sharma’s retirement. Ravindra Jadeja has been appointed vice-captain.

Devdutt Padikkal has earned a recall. He last played in November 2024 during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The left-hander impressed with a century earlier this month against Australia A. Dhruv Jurel has been retained as the first-choice wicketkeeper. He stepped in during the England series when Rishabh Pant was injured. N Jagadeesan joins the squad as backup keeper.

Karun Nair has been dropped after struggling with the bat. Shreyas Iyer asked for a break from red-ball cricket and was not considered. Despite a recent head injury, pacer Prasidh Krishna has been included in the squad.

The first Test will be played in Ahmedabad, followed by the second match in Delhi on October 10. Fans will look forward to fresh leadership under Shubman Gill and key contributions from senior players. The West Indies, who announced their squad with three changes, will also arrive in India with confidence.
