International Government Communication Forum started its 14th edition in Sharjah on Wednesday. His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the two-day event at Expo Centre Sharjah. The forum is organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau and brings together more than 237 speakers under the theme “Communication for Quality of Life.”
In his keynote address, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. And Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, stressed the role of dialogue in building strong societies. He shared examples from history to explain how consultation, justice, and transparency ensure social progress. He said development cannot succeed without communication.
The International Government Communication Forum also highlights Sharjah’s model of including children and youth in decision-making. Through platforms like the Sharjah Children’s Shura Council and the Youth Shura Council, young voices are given space to share ideas and shape the future.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah. And joined a panel session titled From Family Awareness to Social Solidarity. She spoke about her journey in creating opportunities for women and youth. She stressed the right of every child to live in safety and stability.
This year’s edition of the International Government Communication Forum focuses on how communication can improve quality of life. It underlines that trust, participation, and open dialogue are as important as laws in shaping healthy communities.
