Karachi Kings pulled off a thrilling two-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in Match 11 of HBL PSL Season 10. The game took place at the National Stadium, Karachi, and went down to the final over.
After winning the toss, Karachi opted to field first. Their bowlers immediately put Zalmi under pressure. Peshawar struggled to find rhythm throughout their innings. Babar Azam top-scored with 46 off 41 balls. However, he fell lbw to Khushdil Shah at a crucial stage.
Mohammad Haris supported briefly with a 28-run knock off 21 deliveries. But regular wickets kept Zalmi from building momentum. Khushdil Shah starred with the ball, finishing with 3 for 20. Abbas Afridi also bowled well, picking up 3 for 30.
Despite the setbacks, Alzarri Joseph provided a late push. His unbeaten 24 off 13 balls helped Zalmi post 147 for 8. The target looked modest, but the pitch offered some assistance to bowlers.
In reply, Karachi Kings started cautiously. David Warner anchored the chase with a calm 60 off 47 deliveries. However, the innings wasn’t smooth sailing. Tim Seifert was dismissed on the very first ball. James Vince and other middle-order batters also fell cheaply.
Luke Wood gave Zalmi hope with a fiery spell. He took 3 for 13, dismissing Warner, Seifert, and Vince. The momentum briefly swung back in Zalmi’s favor.
Even so, Karachi remained composed in the tense moments. Khushdil Shah returned to shine with the bat. His unbeaten 23 off 17 balls steadied the innings. Hasan Ali then chipped in with a quick 6* off 3 balls.
Eventually, Karachi reached the target in 19.3 overs. This victory gave them a much-needed boost in the points table. The thrilling contest kept fans on the edge of their seats.
