Saudi authorities have arrested four individuals for promoting fraudulent Hajj campaigns online ahead of the 2025 pilgrimage season.
According to the General Directorate of Public Security, the suspects include three border security violators and a Yemeni resident. They were apprehended in Makkah by local security patrols. Authorities discovered that the group had advertised fake housing and transportation services for pilgrims on social media.
As a result, all four were referred to the Saudi Public Prosecution for legal action. The government continues to take a strict stance against any form of Hajj 2025 -related fraud.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior has urged the public to remain vigilant. Citizens and residents should report suspicious activities immediately. For Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, they should call 911. In other regions of the Kingdom, they must dial 999.
Earlier on Friday, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah issued an important reminder. It stated that only pilgrims with official Hajj permits can perform the pilgrimage. These permits must be obtained through the Nusuk platform, which connects with the unified Tasreeh platform.
In addition, the ministry clarified that no visa type allows Hajj except for the official Hajj visa. Attempting to perform Hajj without the proper permit is a serious violation of Saudi laws.
To conclude, the ministry warned against scams and fake advertisements found online. It urged people to verify campaign legitimacy before making any arrangements.
