Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) has unveiled the UAE’s first flying car in collaboration with Dutch company PAL-V. This groundbreaking launch further strengthens Sharjah’s leadership in futuristic mobility and smart innovation.
The PAL-V vehicle blends a three-wheeled car and a gyroplane. It features two engines and foldable rotors for smooth transitions. On the road, it drives like a regular car. Within minutes, it converts into a flying aircraft.
During the launch event, PAL-V officials demonstrated the vehicle indoors at SRTI Park. They explained its land-to-air transition and unique technical features. The flying car also achieved a major milestone—it’s the first to complete full certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Since 2008, PAL-V has developed this vehicle to support door-to-door air and ground mobility. As a result, it offers a practical solution for future transportation needs.
Notably, SRTI Park hosted the launch during its first Business Breakfast event of 2025. This gathering attracted investors, entrepreneurs, and tech leaders from across the region.
Speaking at the event, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, highlighted the Park’s role as a launchpad for innovation. “The PAL-V Flying Car is more than an invention. It reflects our vision to connect innovation with real-world impact,” he said. “At SRTI Park, we empower startups, bridge investment gaps, and promote scalable technologies,” he added.
Robert Dingemanse, CEO and Founder of PAL-V, shared details about the flying car’s development. He discussed ongoing talks with SRTI Park to explore regional manufacturing and expansion. He also revealed over €150 million in pre-orders, giving PAL-V a competitive advantage.
Moreover, the global Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) market is set to reach $2.9 trillion, according to Morgan Stanley. With this growth, SRTI Park and PAL-V aim to lead the regional AAM transformation.
The Business Breakfast featured more than just the product launch. It included startup showcases and presentations on SRTI Park’s services. In addition, the Shuraka’ Majlis roundtable encouraged dialogue and potential partnerships among attendees.
Another key highlight was the one-on-one meetings between entrepreneurs and investors. These sessions provided valuable networking opportunities in a dynamic, innovation-focused setting.
This edition marked a new phase for SRTI Park. It combined two core platforms—Business Breakfast and Partner Council—into one. The goal is to increase engagement and foster stronger public-private collaboration.
