Emirates expands Asian network with new routes

Emirates

Dubai’s flagship carrier, Emirates, has unveiled plans to enhance its presence in Asia by introducing flights to three new destinations: Shenzhen, Da Nang, and Siem Reap. This strategic move aims to tap into Asia’s dynamic markets.

Starting July 1, Emirates will commence daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Shenzhen. Additionally, the airline will launch four weekly flights to Da Nang on June 2 and three weekly flights to Siem Reap on June 3, both routing through Bangkok. These new services are pending government approvals.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the significance of these expansions. He noted that entering Shenzhen opens new avenues for business and economic exchange. Similarly, he emphasized Vietnam’s strategic importance in Emirates’ Southeast Asia network, especially following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Vietnam. With these additions, it now serves 24 destinations in East Asia, offering 269 weekly flights from Dubai. This expansion marks the airline’s fourth gateway into mainland China, third destination in Vietnam, and second point in Cambodia.

Moreover, Emirates is facilitating easier access for travelers to Siem Reap, home to the renowned Angkor Wat, enhancing connections to Cambodia’s cultural and natural attractions.

Emirates Shenzhen route

Emirates will operate the Shenzhen route with its upgraded Boeing 777-300ER, which features four-class cabins, including Premium Economy. Additionally, airlines designs the flight schedules to optimize connections across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.Additionally, Emirates anticipates transporting 10 tonnes of cargo per flight, supporting high-tech and e-commerce exports.

In Vietnam, it will offer four weekly flights to Da Nang via Bangkok, making it the airline’s third gateway into the country after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Similarly, three weekly flights to Siem Reap will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with a stop in Bangkok. These services are tailored to provide leisure connections for travelers from France, the UK, Spain, Germany, Portugal, and Russia. Both routes will utilize Emirates’ two-class Boeing 777-300ER.

In conclusion, Airlines’ expansion into these new Asian markets underscores its commitment to enhancing global connectivity, offering travelers more options, and supporting economic growth in these regions.
