The HBL PSL 2025 Player Draft, held at Lahore Fort’s Huzoori Bagh, witnessed exciting moves and selections. Several top international players are set to make their league debut this season.

Daryl Mitchell Joins Lahore Qalandars

New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell became the first pick of the draft. The two-time champions Lahore Qalandars secured his services to strengthen their batting lineup. Mitchell, with 70 T20Is under his belt, is poised to make his HBL PSL debut later this year.

David Warner Heads to Karachi Kings

Karachi Kings made a bold move by selecting David Warner with the second pick in the Platinum round. Warner, a veteran of 392 T20 matches and 12,727 runs, brings unmatched experience to the Kings.

Key Picks in Platinum Round One of PSL 10

Peshawar Zalmi exercised the Right to Match for Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who has served them for four seasons. Quetta Gladiators, who initially picked him, then secured New Zealand’s Mark Chapman. Chapman is a dual international with 81 T20Is to his name.

Multan Sultans added Michael Bracewell, an all-format New Zealand player. Bracewell has 2,744 T20 runs and 66 wickets.

Islamabad United rounded off the round by picking Matthew Short, a 29-year-old explosive batter.

Notable Selections in Platinum Round Two

Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings dominated the second Platinum round. Quetta used their Wild Card pick to sign all-rounder Faheem Ashraf. They also added aggressive Kiwi opener Finn Allen, who boasts a strike rate of 158.69 from 47 T20Is.

Karachi Kings strengthened their bowling attack by selecting Adam Milne. They also used their Wild Card option to sign Mohammad Abbas Afridi. Milne’s pace and Afridi’s wicket-taking abilities are set to enhance the Kings’ performance.

Islamabad United: Secured Jason Holder.

Lahore Qalandars: Acquired Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera.

Peshawar Zalmi picked Bangladesh’s Nahid Rana, a 22-year-old pacer with impressive potential.

Islamabad United: Chose Australian left-arm fast bowler Ben Dwarshuis, known for his consistent performances.

Lahore Qalandars: Bagged Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain to strengthen their spin attack.

Islamabad United: Made history by drafting USA’s Andries Gous.

Multan Sultans: Strengthened their squad with Ireland’s Josh Little and West Indies’ Gudakesh Motie.

PSL 10 Supplementary Round Highlights

Kane Williamson joined Karachi Kings alongside compatriot Adam Milne. He adds depth to their batting lineup.

Johnson Charles, Tom Curran, Kusal Mendis, and Alzarri Joseph found homes with Sultans, Qalandars, Gladiators, and Zalmi, respectively.

Sean Abbott bolstered Quetta Gladiators’ squad. Meanwhile, Shai Hope joined Multan Sultans.
