Marking 19 years as Dubai Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum paid a heartfelt tribute to his wife. He described Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum as “the most beautiful thing” in his life and the “soul of Dubai.”
On January 4, 2006, Sheikh Mohammed assumed leadership as the Ruler of Dubai. However, for the visionary leader, this day is about acknowledging those who support him.
This year, Sheikh Mohammed dedicated the occasion to his wife, whom he referred to as his “companion in life” and the “Mother of Sheikhs.”
“Sheikha Hind is one of the most compassionate, generous, and charitable people,” Sheikh Mohammed shared. “She is the pillar of my home and the foundation of my family. Throughout my career, she has been my greatest supporter.”
The Dubai Ruler expressed profound gratitude for Sheikha Hind while praying for their enduring love and happiness. “My biggest wish, Hind, is that God protects you and keeps you happy. You are the beginning of life and the most beautiful thing in it. Moreover, you are the soul of Dubai, its pulse, and its joy,” he wrote.
A Poetic Dedication
As a passionate poet, Sheikh Mohammed composed a touching Arabic poem to honor Sheikha Hind. The poem conveyed her irreplaceable presence in his life.
“There’s no one like you to me,” the poem read. “No matter what happens, you remain the most precious of humans.”
He continued, “You are my first dream, and the letters of your name hold a secret in my heart.”
The heartfelt tribute concluded with a reflection on loyalty. Sheikh Mohammed urged everyone to cherish and honor those who stand by them. “Be loyal to those who deserve loyalty—our companions on the path and our support in life,” he emphasized.
Through his words, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted Sheikha Hind’s profound role in his journey while celebrating love, gratitude, and unwavering loyalty.
