Sharjah, October 8 (WAM) – Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the second regular session of the eleventh legislative chapter of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) will be inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
The SCC’s first session, from December 2023 to June 2024, achieved significant milestones. It held 12 sessions, discussing five key draft laws and three general topics related to government departments like the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
These discussions led to 20 recommendations aimed at enhancing development and improving services across the emirate.
The active participation of 55 members, with 150 interventions and 144 questions raised, demonstrated a commitment to transparency and parliamentary oversight.
The Council’s committees held 49 meetings and conducted 22 field visits to evaluate progress in various institutions. Additionally, the SCC received 39 development proposals and 61 complaints.
The session reflects the Council’s dedication to comprehensive development and improving the overall governance of Sharjah.
