Sharjah Ruler approves Dh800 million plan to build and renovate mosques

The development plan to build 60 mosques and renovate 40 others in Sharjah has been approved by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of the emirate, amounting to Dh800 million.

Moreover, Sheikh Sultan directed the responsible entities to uphold and improve cemeteries in Kalba city, as well as enhance their overall look by paving access roads, upgrading parking areas, and removing unwanted vegetation.

Abdullah Khalifa Bin Yarouf Al Sabousi, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, made this announcement during a conversation with Mohammed Khalaf, Director-General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, on the Direct Line programme broadcasted on TV and radio.

Al Sabousi emphasized that the main focus of the plan is on mosques situated on major roads, with 95 percent of them undergoing renovations. He remarked that the upcoming mosques should be up and running in the next two years.
