The artist gained more than 118.8 million followers on the streaming platform this week, while Swift has around 118.78 million followers.
Last year at this time, Singh surpassed Swift in Spotify followers briefly, but Swift quickly regained her position as the top artist on the list, as reported by The Indian Express.
Over time, the Indian singer has experienced significant popularity. Singh became the first Indian singer to achieve a milestone of 100 million listens on Spotify.
Singh and Swift rank higher than other notable names such as Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, and BTS. A.R. Rahman is the sole Indian artist in the top 20, holding the 20th position presently.
