Dubai police arrest young driver after viral stunt video

Dubai Police have taken swift action against a young man who was caught performing dangerous driving stunts in a viral social media video.

The incident, which took place in the Nad Al Sheba area, showed the individual driving on two wheels around a roundabout, showcasing risky behavior that endangered himself and other road users.

According to Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, the driver’s vehicle has been impounded following the stunt.

“The young man was showing off his driving skills in a manner that threatened public safety,” Brigadier Bin Suwaidan said. The vehicle will remain impounded until a substantial fine of Dh50,000 is paid, as stipulated under Decree 30 of 2023.

The driver has been summoned and has admitted to his reckless actions. Brigadier Bin Suwaidan warned against such dangerous driving behaviors, stressing that violators would face immediate vehicle impoundment and legal action.

He also encouraged the community to report any unsafe driving through the ‘Police Eye’ service, the ‘We Are All Police’ initiative, or by calling 901.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and maintaining safety on the roads. Dubai Police continue to enforce strict measures to ensure that all drivers comply with traffic regulations and contribute to a safer driving environment.
