Sharjah Emirati culture Poland is gaining global attention as the Warsaw International Book Fair 2026 opens in the Polish capital. Sharjah is attending the event as the Guest of Honour. The emirate is presenting Emirati literature, poetry, art, heritage, and publishing to European audiences.
The fair is taking place from May 28 to May 31 in Warsaw. The event carries the slogan “Two Civilisations. One Language of Letters.” It aims to build stronger cultural and literary ties between the Arab world and Europe. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi is leading Sharjah’s delegation at the event.
A 400-square-metre Sharjah pavilion is hosting 21 cultural and academic institutions. Around 36 Emirati writers, poets, artists, and academics are taking part. The programme includes panel talks, poetry evenings, and workshops for children. Visitors can also enjoy live performances by the Sharjah National Band.
Sharjah Emirati culture Poland activities also include discussions at the University of Warsaw. Topics cover Emirati poetry, Arab theatre, literary exchange, and the growth of Emirati novels. The “Tasawurat” project is another highlight. It brings together artists from the UAE and Poland to create posters inspired by Arabic and Polish poetry.
Several Emirati and Arab books translated into Polish are being displayed at the fair. This gives Polish readers a chance to explore Arabic literature and Emirati storytelling.
