Pakistan has officially greenlighted the National AI Fund a major step toward advancing artificial intelligence and driving digital transformation in the country. According to official documents, this initiative aims to strengthen innovation, promote future technologies. And create new opportunities for startups and skilled professionals.
As part of this plan, 30% of Ignite’s Research and Development Fund will be dedicated to the National Artificial Intelligence Fund (NAIF). The main goal is to support the development of AI technologies and create a strong foundation for future tech growth in Pakistan.
To boost AI research and innovation. The government will set up AI Centers of Excellence in key cities including Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. These centers will serve as collaborative hubs where universities, industries, and startups can work together to develop advanced AI solutions.
A key part of the National AI Fund is a Skill Development Program aimed at training 200,000 individuals every year in AI technologies. This program will be run through partnerships between the Ministry of Education, provincial governments. And private organizations, helping Pakistan build a highly skilled tech workforce.
In addition, a National High-Tech Internship Program will be launched to give students. And young professionals practical experience in AI and other emerging technologies.
With these efforts under the National AI Policy. Pakistan is taking a bold step toward becoming a leader in artificial intelligence, fostering innovation. And building a competitive digital economy.
