Indian passport travel update shows that Indian passport holders can access 70 destinations through visa-free entry, visa on arrival or electronic travel authorisation (eTA), according to the September 2026 Passport Reports ranking. The Indian passport ranks 132nd globally with a Mobility Score of 70.

Indian Passport Access In September 2026
The latest Indian passport travel update lists 25 destinations where Indian travellers can enter without getting a visa in advance. Another 40 destinations offer visa on arrival. Five more destinations provide access through an eTA or similar pre-registration system.
Travel conditions differ by country. The permitted stay can range from 14 days to 180 days for visa-free destinations.
Dominica allows Indian travellers to stay for up to 180 days. Fiji and Vanuatu allow stays of up to 120 days. Barbados, Grenada, Maldives, Mauritius and several other destinations allow stays of up to 90 days.
Other visa-free options include Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Macao, Nepal, the Philippines, Rwanda, Thailand and Trinidad and Tobago.
40 Destinations Offer Visa On Arrival
Indian travellers can also get a visa on arrival in 40 destinations listed in the report. These include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Madagascar, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Russia, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
The permitted stay varies. Armenia allows up to 120 days, while Azerbaijan allows 30 days. Vietnam allows up to 90 days. Togo allows 15 days, while Saint Lucia allows 42 days.
Several countries also provide eVisa options as an alternative to visa on arrival.
Five Destinations Offer eTA Access
Five destinations listed in the report offer access through an electronic travel authorisation or similar system. These are Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles and Sri Lanka.
Kenya, Seychelles and Saint Kitts and Nevis allow stays of up to 90 days under the listed arrangements. Sri Lanka allows 30 days, while Côte d’Ivoire lists 90 days with pre-enrolment.
What Indian Travellers Should Know
The report also states that 128 destinations require Indian passport holders to obtain a visa before travel. Some of these destinations offer online visa applications or eVisa routes.
