The conference will bring together booksellers, distributors, publishers, and e-commerce platforms from 98 countries. It will focus on improving global book distribution and building stronger partnerships across the publishing industry.
The Booksellers Conference Sep 19-20 aims to help industry professionals exchange ideas and learn from each other. The programme includes panel discussions and workshops on stock management, supply chain improvement, communication, and business growth. Experts will also discuss practical ways to solve challenges in the changing book market.
Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, said the conference supports Sharjah’s vision of strengthening the global publishing industry. He added that the event has helped publishers and distributors reach new markets and improve supply chain efficiency. This year’s edition will place greater attention on digital transformation and the rapid growth of e-commerce.
The Booksellers Conference Sep 19-20 will also explore the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics in bookselling. Sessions will explain how these tools can improve book discovery, personalize customer offers, and increase sales in both physical bookstores and online platforms. Case studies on hybrid sales models will also be presented.
Another important topic will be the changing role of bookshops as community and cultural spaces. Speakers will discuss book clubs, reading programs, in-store events, and digital marketing strategies. Registration remains open until September 18 for publishers, distributors, booksellers, and online bookselling platform operators.
