The treatment, called ER-100, was developed by Life Biosciences in Boston. It uses partial cellular reprogramming, a process that helps old cells behave like younger cells again. Researchers say the therapy may help patients suffering from glaucoma and optic nerve damage. The science behind this treatment comes from Nobel Prize-winning research by Japanese scientist Shinya Yamanaka. His discovery showed that certain genes can reset ageing cells. Scientists now use a safer method called partial reprogramming to avoid dangerous risks.

The trial has also gained attention because of interest from famous longevity researchers and tech billionaire Elon Musk. Experts still warn that more testing is needed because changing gene activity may increase cancer risks.

Even so, this Anti Ageing Gene Therapy marks an important step in medical science. Researchers hope it could one day help slow ageing and treat serious diseases linked to growing old.
