AirSial Explains Domestic Service for Transporting Deceased Loved Ones Across Pakistan

AirSial has released important information for families who need to transport the body of a deceased relative from one city to another within Pakistan. The airline says the facility is intended to make the process faster, more affordable and less stressful during a difficult time.

The guidance is particularly relevant for people who work far from their hometowns and wish to lay their loved ones to rest in their native areas. Instead of relying solely on lengthy road journeys, families can use AirSial’s domestic transportation service to move the deceased to the airport nearest to their destination.

Support for Bereaved Families

Many Pakistanis relocate to major cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad for employment while their families continue living in other parts of the country.

When a death occurs away from home, transporting the deceased over long distances can be emotionally and physically demanding, especially during the hot summer months. AirSial says its service has been introduced to help families complete this journey more quickly and with greater ease.

Free Travel for One Accompanying Relative

Under the airline’s policy, one family member accompanying the deceased on a domestic flight is exempt from paying the airfare.

The traveler is only required to pay the applicable government taxes. According to the information shared by the airline, the tax on the Karachi–Islamabad route is approximately Rs2,170.

This arrangement is designed to reduce expenses for families already facing funeral and burial costs.

Facility Available for Two Deceased Passengers Per Flight

AirSial has stated that, subject to operational availability, each domestic flight can transport up to two deceased passengers.

Each deceased passenger may be accompanied by one traveler under the same complimentary travel policy. Families are encouraged to contact the nearest AirSial ticket counter immediately after a death so the necessary arrangements can be made without delay.

Documents Needed Before Transportation

To use the service, families must provide the following original documents:

  • Police transit permit or clearance
  • Official death certificate
  • Original CNIC of the deceased
  • Original CNIC of the accompanying passenger

The airline says these documents are required to complete legal formalities before the deceased can be accepted for transportation.

Airport Cargo Process

Families should bring the deceased to the airport at least two hours before the scheduled departure time.

The body must be handed over at the Domestic Cargo Terminal together with the required documents. If the transportation is being facilitated through welfare organizations such as Edhi Foundation or Chhipa Welfare Association, their relevant paperwork should also be presented.

Completing these steps in advance helps ensure the transportation process proceeds smoothly.

Reducing the Burden of Long-Distance Travel

Road transportation often takes several hours and can become particularly challenging during periods of extreme heat.

By offering domestic air transportation, AirSial provides families with a practical alternative that shortens travel time and helps ensure the deceased reaches their hometown promptly for funeral arrangements.

Airline Encourages Public Awareness

AirSial has urged the public to familiarize themselves with the service so families know where to seek assistance if the need ever arises.

The airline advises relatives to contact the nearest AirSial office or airport counter as soon as possible following a death. Staff members can guide them through the documentation requirements, cargo procedures and available flight options.

Through this initiative, AirSial aims to support grieving families by making the transportation of deceased loved ones more efficient, dignified and accessible across Pakistan.

Why Air Transportation Is Often the Preferred Choice

Transporting a deceased loved one by air can significantly reduce the time required to reach the final destination. Compared with long-distance road travel, domestic flights allow families to complete funeral arrangements sooner while minimizing the risks associated with extended transportation during extreme weather conditions.

Air travel also offers a more structured process, with dedicated cargo handling and trained personnel ensuring the deceased is transported with care and dignity.

A Valuable Service for Families Living Away From Home

Millions of Pakistanis live and work outside their hometowns, especially in major commercial centers. When tragedy strikes, returning a loved one home can become one of the family’s biggest logistical challenges.

AirSial’s domestic transportation facility provides reassurance that families have access to a quicker option, helping them spend less time worrying about travel arrangements and more time supporting one another during a difficult period.

Awareness Can Help Families in Emergencies

Many people remain unaware that domestic airlines provide facilities for transporting deceased passengers between cities.

Greater public awareness can help families make informed decisions during emergencies instead of relying solely on lengthy road journeys. Understanding the available procedures in advance can save valuable time when quick arrangements are required.
