What Happened To The Child?
The child, identified as Walid Khaled, was an Arab expatriate. He had been preparing for the new school year before the tragic incident.
His family said Walid had packed his school bag and arranged his stationery. He was also looking forward to shopping for his school sports uniform.
Later, Walid went to a park near his home with his older brother and friends. During the outing, another child approached a water cooler outside a nearby house.
According to Walid’s nine-year-old brother, Ahmed, the child suddenly fell after touching the cooler. Ahmed said he felt an electric current when he touched the other child and quickly pulled his hand away.
Walid reportedly thought the incident could have been a prank. He went closer to check what had happened. However, he also came into contact with the cooler and collapsed. Ahmed then ran home to alert his parents.
Family Rushed To The Scene
Walid’s family immediately went to the location and found him unconscious. An ambulance took the child to hospital, where doctors later confirmed his death.
The sudden loss has deeply affected Walid’s family. His school community has also expressed grief following the tragedy.
