The Grand Dubai Mall is set to open on Wednesday, August 19, bringing a new community shopping and lifestyle destination to Nad Al Sheba. The two-storey mall will open in phases and bring a mix of popular restaurants, retail stores, services and wellness brands to the growing Dubai neighbourhood.
The new mall was first announced in 2024. It is being developed as part of the Nad Al Sheba Gardens residential community. The destination is designed to offer everyday convenience while also creating a place where residents and visitors can shop, eat and spend time.
The Grand Dubai Mall opens in phases
The first phase will welcome several businesses on opening day. A new Waitrose supermarket will be among the key names opening at the mall.
Other businesses arriving on August 19 include MMI, Heart Cottage Lane, Maple Bear Nursery, Al Jaber Optical and Fixperts.
However, that is only the beginning. More restaurants, cafes and local brands are expected to join the mall from early September.
The upcoming openings include several well-known Dubai favourites. These include Tashas, Somewhere Home Bakery, Kokoro, Blu Pizzeria, Bake My Day, Daima, Staywell Pharmacy and Tips and Toes.
The mix means visitors will have plenty of options for food, shopping, family services and everyday needs.
Kokoro and Bake My Day join forces
One of the most anticipated additions will be a permanent dual-concept location featuring Kokoro Handroll Bar and Bake My Day.
Kokoro has closed its pop-up at The Square to move into a long-term location at the new mall. The new space will be divided equally between the two brands.
Each side will have its own design, colours and identity. Kokoro will serve its popular handrolls, while Bake My Day will offer its well-known thick cookies.
The combined concept is expected to add another attraction for food lovers visiting the new community mall.
More wellness options are coming
The Grand will also expand its health and wellness offering. Fitcode and American Hospital are expected to complete this part of the destination in early 2027.

Designed as a community destination
The mall is part of Nad Al Sheba Gardens, a 1.5 million square metre residential development. The community features three-to-seven-bedroom villas and townhouses.
It is located around 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai and offers access to areas including DIFC, Business Bay and Meydan.
Although the mall is designed to serve residents, it will also be open to non-residents.
Its design focuses on creating a natural connection with the surrounding landscape. The mall will use a natural colour palette and materials selected to complement the area.
The architecture will also connect with landscaped parking areas and nearby parks. A light steel roof supported by vertical columns is designed to allow natural light into the mall.
The wider community will include leisure, fitness and relaxation facilities. It will also feature an education campus, walkable roads and cycling tracks.

With its phased opening, popular food brands and major supermarket, The Grand Dubai Mall is set to become a convenient new destination in Nad Al Sheba.
The arrival of brands such as Waitrose, Tashas, Kokoro and Bake My Day could make the mall particularly appealing to local residents and food lovers.
