Mohammed Bin Rashid Library hosts an actor preparation workshop in Dubai to help aspiring performers build their theatre skills. The programme is organised in partnership with Dubai National Theatre and is led by Emirati director Hamad Al Hammadi. The three-week workshop gives participants practical and creative training while introducing them to the basics of acting and stage performance.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library welcomed strong participation during the first week from UAE nationals and residents interested in performing arts. The workshop continues until July 10. Participants receive hands-on stage training at the library in Dubai. They also learn how acting, movement, voice, and script work together to create a believable theatre character.
The opening week included inspiring sessions from well-known Emirati theatre professionals. Actor Abdullah Saleh Al Rumaithi, actor Mansour Al Feili, and director Aref Al Taweel shared their personal experiences and practical advice. Their sessions gave participants valuable insight into the theatre industry and encouraged them to develop their artistic abilities.
Director Hamad Al Hammadi said the programme follows a realistic training method that helps participants understand their strengths and choose the right path in theatre. He explained that the goal is not perfect acting but helping each participant improve their creative tools and artistic awareness. The workshop also introduces different areas of theatre production, including writing, acting, directing, and stage management.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library workshop will end on July 10 with a live theatre performance presented by the participants. The final show will allow them to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they gained during the programme. The initiative highlights the library’s continued support for culture, creativity, and the growth of performing arts talent in the UAE.
