Sharjah Institute for Heritage celebrates museums and tea with a special cultural programme in Sharjah. The four-day event runs from 18 to 21 May 2026 at the headquarters of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage. The programme marks International Museum Day and International Tea Day. It brings together culture lovers, researchers, and visitors from different countries.
The event includes workshops, exhibitions, music, and discussions. The theme focuses on tea heritage and its role in connecting people around the world. A special knowledge tour called “Tea’s Journey from Farm to Cup” explains the history of tea and its cultural value. The celebration also highlights the importance of museums in protecting human history and traditions.
International guests from Bahrain, China, Morocco, and India are taking part in the activities. Visitors can enjoy tea etiquette exhibitions, traditional performances, and music shows. Cultural communities are also sharing their customs linked to tea and hospitality traditions.
Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, said museums play a major role in preserving cultural memory. He explained that combining International Museum Day with International Tea Day created a unique chance to celebrate heritage in a wider way.
The programme also includes interactive workshops. Visitors can learn tea soap-making, tea candle-making, and tea-inspired cosmetics production. A dialogue session will discuss the social and cultural role of tea in bringing communities together.
