The World Cultural Festival Pakistan is set to become the country’s biggest cultural event in history. The Arts Council of Pakistan, in partnership with the Government of Sindh, has officially announced the festival with participation from over 100 countries.
Mega World Event
Running from October 30 to December 7, 2025, the 38-day festival will feature more than 800 performers. Artists from Asia, Europe, Africa, North and Latin America will present music, dance, theatre, painting, sculpture, and films. For the first time, international painters, sculptors, and filmmakers from more than 20 countries will be part of the show.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Named Brand Ambassador
The festival gained even more attention when famous Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was introduced as the first-ever brand ambassador of the World Cultural Festival Pakistan. He thanked the Sindh Government and shared his excitement about headlining the closing ceremony with a special performance for artists, media, and invited guests.
Karachi Arts Council’s Role
At a press briefing in Karachi, Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah highlighted the event’s massive scale. He explained that the festival was originally planned to honor Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan but was postponed due to security concerns after the Palagham attack. Shah also confirmed wide participation from Pakistani artists across the country.
Indian Artists Missing
Shah addressed the absence of Indian artists, noting that while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal will be represented, political and diplomatic issues have blocked India’s participation.
Nurturing New Talent
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan closed the event with a message about investing in future generations. He stressed the need for more academies to train young talent, saying this would help Pakistan produce the next great artists.
