Riyan Parag commentators criticism became a major talking point after Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. The RR skipper asked experts and commentators to focus more on cricket instead of making personal remarks about players. He said players work very hard before every match and deserve respect for their efforts.
Riyan Parag said that fans and commentators often judge players too quickly after one bad game. He explained that teams spend several days preparing for matches and making strategies to score big runs. However, sometimes plans do not work on the field. Parag added that players are also human and can make mistakes.
The Riyan Parag commentators criticism issue became stronger when he requested commentators to “talk about cricket” and avoid discussing unnecessary personal matters. He believes cricket is India’s biggest sport and should be treated with more respect. The young cricketer also said outside opinions should not affect a player’s confidence or mindset.
Parag shared that he has learned to ignore “keyboard warriors” and online negativity over the last few years. According to him, criticism will always exist no matter what a player does. His focus now remains on improving his game and staying mentally strong during the IPL season.
The Rajasthan Royals captain also praised young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for his brilliant innings against Lucknow Super Giants. The 15-year-old batter scored 93 runs from just 38 balls during the chase of 221. Parag called it Sooryavanshi’s best innings and appreciated his calm understanding of the game at such a young age.
